The man lovingly known as the second man on the moon will make a landing this month right in the midstate.

Apollo 11 pilot and famous astronaut Buzz Aldrin has been announced as the keynote speaker for the LeadingAge PA 50th Anniversary Conference set to be held June 19-21 at the Hershey Lodge in Derry Township.

LeadingAge PA is a trade association that represents non-profit providers of services for seniors throughout Pennsylvania. The conference for service providers features educational sessions, workshops, a film festival and a golf tournament.

Aldrin, who became an astronaut 50 years ago, will speak on “Sharing Our Gifts” at 8:30 p.m. June 19.

Other keynote speakers include David McCullough, Jeremy Bloom and Larry Minnix. McCullough, a two-time Pulitzer Prize winner and a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, will speak at 8:30 a.m. June 20 on “Honoring Our History.”

Bloom, a two-time Olympic skier and former NFL football player, will speak on “Enriching our Lives” at 4:30 p.m. June 20. Linnix, National LeadingAge President and CEO, will speak at 4 p.m. June 19 on “Celebrating out Story.”
