11 Jun Buzz Aldrin Talks New Book & How To Man A ‘Mission To Mars’
The second man to ever set foot on the surface of the moon, astronaut Buzz Aldrin joined the K-EARTH 101 Morning Show to talk about his brand new book, Mission To Mars: My Vision For Space Exploration, and special book signing and lecture tonight at the Nixon Library.
This true American hero has followed up his 2009 autobiography, Magnificent Desolation, with his proposals and plans of how to continue the “quest to push the boundaries of the universe as we know it.”
On why the space program has stopped manned missions into space, Buzz explains that “We have mismanaged some things in various ways that have culminated with not having human access to our own space station for much, much longer than we thought.”
In his book, Aldrin’s vision to continue space exploration includes taking humans to Mars by the year 2035, and details all the ways he believes we can man a mission to Mars.
Even at 83, Buzz shows no signs of stopping his exploration of the universe that started out with landing on the moon in 1969.
“I have been so fortunate – my mother was born the same year of the Wright Brothers’ flight, then I got to visit the moon and now I’m planning for humanities’ expansion to settle on another planet,” said Buzz.
